Labertouche Primary School has an enrolement of 26 students. With 3 spacious classrooms and a library. The school grounds are well maintained with the feel of open parklands. Students enjoy a large modern playground, a synthetic basketball court, a football oval, a cubby and an indoor sandpit. The school has a workforce composition of 2.8 with a full time classroom teacher (Junior room,1.0), a partime senior classroom teacher (0.8), a teaching Principal, a teacher's aid (0.4) a part time Business Manager (0.4), a specialist chinese teacher (0.1) and a specialist Science/Arts teacher (0.2). We also have a MARC van teacher who visits on a weekly basis. We have a computer ratio of 1:1 and we integrate ICT across the curriculum. Our school is part of the Tarago Education Community, a network of schools and an early childhood centre. We use this active partnership to build teacher capacity, pedagogy and curriculum. Labertouche Primary School is also part of Tarago Cluster PLC which provides a range of activities for students and allows teachers to meet weekly to discuss teaching and learning in a small school setting. Low class numbers and a higher staffing ratio allow more one on one time with students. Labertouche Primary School uses the School Wide Positive Support Program, explicitly teaching and rewarding students for displaying positive behaviours.
