Point Cook Primary School, Point Cook, VIC

School statement
Point Cook Primary School is located within the confines of the Williams Royal Australian Air Force base at Point Cook in the outer western suburbs of Melbourne. The base is within the growth corridor of Wyndham, with rapidly expanding green fields housing estates. As such, the school population has increased in the past few years to a peak enrolment of 380 students this year. In 2010 the development of the new Point Cook P - 9 College in the Innisfail estate will see the school relocate from its current confines and an anticipated enrolment in excess of 650. Throughout this development the guiding principles (Leadership, Creativity and Innovation, Engagement, Individuality, Partnerships and Sustainability) will continue to underpin the school vision: Creating Tomorrow Today. The College is committed to student centred learning where the pupils are seen as global citizens in a sustainable world environment. The current school has recently completed a self-evaluation and review process. In line with the the Western Region Blueprint for School Improvement and the Hobsons Bay network strategic plan the College aims to demonstrate measureable, significant gains in literacy and numeracy by 2012. Visit the school website.
