Star of the Sea College, Gardenvale, VIC

School statement
Star of the Sea is a Catholic secondary girl's school with an enrolment of approximately 1100 students. Founded by the Presentation Sisters in 1883, the College is situated in the bayside area of Brighton. Our rich Presentation heritage fosters in students a strong sense of justice and compassion. Girls are urged to reach their full creative potential and to aim for excellence in all they undertake. They are supported by staff who believe in the value of caring for each student as an individual. They experience a broad, forward-looking education designed to meet each student's individual needs and to develop their gifts. Year 9 students engage in a unique academic and pastoral program at the Anzac campus of Star of the Sea, Brighton. The vibrant co-curricular program provides opportunities for all students to explore and enrich their interests. A strategic approach to the provision of technology allows students to develop a positive and confident approach to the technological developments that are enriching modern education. The College has excellent facilities augmented by a new performing arts centre due for completion by December 2010. Visit the school website.
