School statement

St Peter's has an enrolment of approximately 630 children across 27 classrooms. The school demonstrates a strong Catholic ethos, which is enhanced by the committed relationship between the parish and the school. St Peter's School offers a comprehensive curriculum with specialist classes in information technology, Italian, visual arts and performing arts. All classes have access to the computer lab and computers in classrooms. The school offers a comprehensive physical education program, which includes swimming. Religious Education is supported by the 'To Know, Worship and Love' texts, which emphasise doctrine, faith and prayer. The sacramental program is parent- initiated, parish-based and school-supported. Literacy practices include programs such as CLaSS, Reading Recovery, a Middle Years Literacy Project and literacy support in Years 3 to 6. Student well-being and management is based around the philosophy of Restorative Practises and is supported through the Healthy Relationships Program, Buddy and Peer Support programs and a Student Representative Council.
